Let me get this straight. Damien's data worm got traced, and he knew WATI would be coming for him at his apartment, but he realised he couldn't wake Zoe -- a girl he cared about, at least enough to kiss. So then he... just left her there in his apartment, unconscious and alone, not knowing when WATI would break down his door? And trotted off merrily to Saint Petersburg with a message of "meet me there if WATI haven't captured and / or killed you"? Don't tell me he couldn't have smuggled her to safety at a hotel somewhere.
